Me and Elli moved into our new home last saturday. We’ll be living in a 8 room flat with 5 other people (at the moment one of the rooms is empty). The flat has two bathrooms and kitchen for shared use.
This is the view from the front door. My room is at the back of the hallway on the left. The shared rooms can be a little chilly at times. Someone really should teach Brits about double-pane glass windows. The shower is an electric shower, which at first gave me and Elli some laughs. So far I’ve managed not to be electrocuted while soaping myself. I’ll keep you posted on how that works out.
This is my room. Full-floor carpeting and extra carpets make sure your feet are comfortable. The room is kept warm with a moveable radiator and a fake fireplace. The electric bill is not included in the rent, which is 66£/week. We have to pay 20p for the shower (15 mins.) and a pound for the washer and the dryer (2 hours). The apartment is a bit different from what I grown used to back in Finland, but so far I’ve had a good time here. (Probably because we got the Internetz! Yay!)
The apartment is on the Kersland Street, Byres Road and the Great Western Road a nearby. The location on Hillhead is great, and it takes only about 5 minutes walk to get to the University library and the main building. I’ll add pictures of the house later on.
